914.01. Construction Standards
1. Sidewalks shall be concrete and a minimum of 5 feet wide and 4 inches thick on local streets and a
minimum of 6 feet wide and 4 inches thick on minor collector or major thoroughfares, unless otherwise
directed by the City.
2. Concrete shall be Class “B” (as defined by Georgia DOT) and have a minimum strength of 2,200 psi at 28
days.
3. Sidewalks located in the public right-of-way shall be constructed in compliance with Georgia DOT design
standard Special detail A-3. The width of said sidewalk may be dictated by the City based on the City’s
current sidewalk plan and may not match GDOT’s 5’ width shown in the detail.
4. Curb ramps shall be provided at all curb termini and shall meet current GDOT standards
