For the purposes of this Code Division, the following are adopted by reference:
1. The flood insurance study (FIS), dated September 29, 2006, with accompanying maps and other
supporting data and any revision thereto are hereby adopted by reference. For those land areas acquired
by the City through annexation, the current effective FIS and data for Gwinnett County, dated September
29, 2006, with accompanying maps and other supporting data and any revision thereto are hereby
adopted by reference.
2. Other studies which may be relied upon for the establishment of the base flood elevation or delineation
of the one hundred-year floodplain and flood-prone areas include:
a. Any flood or flood-related study conducted by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, the
United States Geological Survey or any other local, state or federal agency applicable to the city;
or
b. Any base flood study authored by a registered professional engineer in the State of Georgia
which has been prepared by FEMA approved methodology and approved by the Planning and
Development Department.
3. Other studies which may be relied upon for the establishment of the future-conditions flood elevation or
delineation of the future-conditions floodplain and flood-prone areas include:
a. Any flood or flood-related study conducted by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, the
United States Geological Survey, or any other local, state or federal agency applicable to the city;
or
b. Any future-conditions flood study authored by a registered professional engineer in the state,
which has been prepared by FEMA approved methodology and approved by the Duluth Planning
and Development Department.
4. The repository for public inspection of the FIS, accompanying maps and other supporting data is located
online.
