a. Any sign and sign structure that is or has become a nonconforming sign may be registered by the owner
with the Department of Planning and Development. If the sign was legally erected prior to the effective
date of this Article or any amendments thereto, the sign shall be registered and allowed to continue to
exist under the provisions of Section 610.02.

b. At the time that a legal nonconforming sign is registered, a sign permit shall be issued to the sign owner
and the sign shall be so marked in accordance with Departmental procedures.
