Installation Deadlines

**Governing jurisdiction: Duluth.** A "Duluth, GA" mailing address is usually NOT in the City of Duluth. Unincorporated Gwinnett is 67.3% of the county's land area and is governed by a different code, a different board and a different permit portal. Resolve the governing jurisdiction before answering any zoning question.

Sidewalks shall be installed prior to approval of a Final Plat or issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy (C.O.) in
accordance with this Section unless a Performance Bond is posted. The cost of a sidewalk installation may be set
aside in escrow only when proposed road improvements may impact the location of the sidewalk.

1. Sidewalks required on residential building lots shall be installed prior to issuance of a C.O. for each
individual dwelling.
2. Sidewalks required on common or recreation areas shall be installed prior to issuance of a C.O. or
Certificate of Completion, as appropriate.
3. Sidewalks required on other projects shall be installed prior to issuance of a C.O. or Certificate of
Completion, as appropriate.
