Underground Utilities

**Governing jurisdiction: Duluth.** A "Duluth, GA" mailing address is usually NOT in the City of Duluth. Unincorporated Gwinnett is 67.3% of the county's land area and is governed by a different code, a different board and a different permit portal. Resolve the governing jurisdiction before answering any zoning question.

## Text

1. All water and sanitary sewer utilities and storm drain facilities within the curbs shall be installed and the
ditches backfilled and thoroughly compacted before any pavement or base is installed.
2. Once the base has been placed, all further installation of utilities under the roadway shall be bored or
otherwise comply with Section 916, Street Cuts.
3. All utility manholes and valve boxes shall be brought flush to the finished grade within the roadway
section.
4. Refer to GDOT standard details for placement of utilities.
