General Design Standards

**Governing jurisdiction: Duluth.** A "Duluth, GA" mailing address is usually NOT in the City of Duluth. Unincorporated Gwinnett is 67.3% of the county's land area and is governed by a different code, a different board and a different permit portal. Resolve the governing jurisdiction before answering any zoning question.

901.01. Suitability of the Land
Land subject to flooding, improper drainage or erosion, and any land deemed to be unsuitable for development
due to steep slope, unsuitable soils or subsurface conditions, etc., shall not be subjected to development for any
uses that may continue such conditions or increase danger to health, safety, life, and property, unless steps are
taken to eliminate or abate these conditions.
