Permit Procedures and Requirements

**Governing jurisdiction: Duluth.** A "Duluth, GA" mailing address is usually NOT in the City of Duluth. Unincorporated Gwinnett is 67.3% of the county's land area and is governed by a different code, a different board and a different permit portal. Resolve the governing jurisdiction before answering any zoning question.

## Text

835.01. Permit Application Requirements.
1. No owner or developer shall perform any development activities on a site where an area of special flood
hazard is located without first meeting the requirements of this Code Section prior to commencing the
proposed activity.
2. Unless specifically excluded by this Article, any landowner or developer desiring a permit for a
development activity shall submit to the Duluth Planning and Development Department a permit
application on a form provided by the Planning and Development Department for that purpose.
3. No permit will be approved for any development activities that do not meet the requirements,
restrictions and criteria of this Code Division.
