# Duluth UDC § 608.04

Location of Temporary Signs

**Governing jurisdiction: Duluth.** A "Duluth, GA" mailing address is usually NOT in the City of Duluth. Unincorporated Gwinnett is 67.3% of the county's land area and is governed by a different code, a different board and a different permit portal. Resolve the governing jurisdiction before answering any zoning question.

a. All temporary signs shall be located as follows:

1. At least 10 feet from any street right-of-way line, back of street curb or edge of street pavement,
whichever is farthest from the street.
2. At least 10 feet from any side or rear property line and the pavement edge of a driveway.
3. Temporary signs located within 30 feet of an intersection of two streets or a driveway and a
street shall be no more than 3 feet in height.
b. Temporary signs are not allowed to be placed within or over a public street right-of-way or private street

easement.

A temporary sign must be a freestanding sign or a building sign (as defined in this Article), and shall not be
affixed to any tree, utility pole or official traffic sign or structure. A temporary sign shall be erected and
maintained only with the permission of the owner of the property upon which the sign is located.
