Construction and Maintenance

**Governing jurisdiction: Duluth.** A "Duluth, GA" mailing address is usually NOT in the City of Duluth. Unincorporated Gwinnett is 67.3% of the county's land area and is governed by a different code, a different board and a different permit portal. Resolve the governing jurisdiction before answering any zoning question.

a. All signs shall be constructed and maintained in conformance with the Duluth Building Code.
b. The City may, at its discretion, require certification to confirm that the structural requirements of the

City’s codes are met.
c.
All signs, together with their supports, braces, guys and anchors, shall be kept in good repair and unless
constructed of galvanized or non-corroding metal, shall be given a protective coating as necessary to
maintain a clean appearance and safe condition.
