Approval to Remove Trees

**Governing jurisdiction: Duluth.** A "Duluth, GA" mailing address is usually NOT in the City of Duluth. Unincorporated Gwinnett is 67.3% of the county's land area and is governed by a different code, a different board and a different permit portal. Resolve the governing jurisdiction before answering any zoning question.

1112.01. Tree Removal Approval Required for Development Activity
1. No person shall engage in any new Development Activity, such as the construction of a subdivision, multi-
family project or nonresidential development, without meeting the requirements of a Site Development
Plan as required in Section 1116.
2. For any existing multi-family or non-residential development for which a development permit was
previously issued, no tree shall be removed that would reduce the tree canopy on the property below
that required under Article 7 without the reissuance of the tree removal permit.
