Applications for a Map Amendment or Special Use Approval

**Governing jurisdiction: Duluth.** A "Duluth, GA" mailing address is usually NOT in the City of Duluth. Unincorporated Gwinnett is 67.3% of the county's land area and is governed by a different code, a different board and a different permit portal. Resolve the governing jurisdiction before answering any zoning question.

1107.01. Application Form and Documents
1. The proper form on which to file an application for a map amendment or special use approval can be
obtained from the Planning and Development Department. The completed application shall be filed with
the Planning and Development Department at least 30 days prior to the Planning Commission meeting at
which the request will be considered.
2. Any transmittal purporting to be an application for a map amendment or special use approval shall be
regarded as mere notice of intention to seek an amendment until such time as it is made on the required
form provided by the Planning and Development Department and is complete in all respects.
3. The Planning and Development Department will review the application for completeness within 5 days of
submission. Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant.
4. An application for a map amendment or special use approval shall contain the following in order to be
